We were delighted to hear that our roofing contractor won two awards specifically for its work on our Royal Victoria Pavilion, Ramsgate project at the recent UK Roofing Awards 2018.
Full Metal Jacket won the Fully Supported Metal and the coveted Roof of the Year Award for overseeing the construction of the roof for what is JD Wetherspoon’s largest pub on Ramsgate’s Harbour Parade.
Key elements of the Royal Victoria Pavilion project included replacing the signature curved zinc roof (at the time one of the largest zinc roof projects in Europe) and a succession of oval dormer windows that had long since disappeared. A bold signage scheme inspired by a 1950s design and featuring large scale lettering complements the elegant lines of the curved roof and proudly announces the restored pavilion to the on-looking seaside town.
Close to 800 people descended on London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel to celebrate the great and the good of the UK roofing industry at an awards presentation ceremony and dinner, organised by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors (NFRC) and hosted by BBC sports and breakfast presenter, Dan Walker.
Now in its eleventh year, the UK Roofing Awards have become a firm fixture for the roofing sector to come together and celebrate outstanding standards of design workmanship and safety demonstrated throughout the year.
Keith Paine, kdpa Managing Director, comments: “We were delighted to hear that Full Metal Jacket was recognised at the UK Roofing Awards. This is well deserved. From inception to completion, the Full Metal Jacket team oversaw this element of the project with professionalism and skill along with a personable service which enabled us to ensure the Royal Victoria Pavilion in Ramsgate lived up to all the hype.”
