Captain Ridley’s Shooting Party
Bletchley
On entering through the main front doors, former local customers are faced with familiarity but with a very different impression. Elements of structure and carefully placed items of furniture and artwork help to create a set of ‘spaces within a space’ allowing customers to find a corner to retreat to.
Bespoke ‘telephone’ picture lights reference the General Post Office’s time utilising Bletchley Park as their vast training centre.
Further along and into the extension, this provides a complete contrast in spatial quality to that of the original building. A light filled room flanked on two sides with full height windows opening out onto a veranda. The re-landscaped garden provides a backdrop, with mature planting around the boundary working to create a secluded green space in the middle of the town.
